Benzoin is a balsamic resin obtained from the bark of several species of trees in the genus styrax. Benzoin is sometimes called gum benzoin. It is used in perfumes and all kinds of incense products because if its sweet vanilla like aroma and fixative properties. Its used for extraction of essential oils, cosmetics and scented candles.
